About Us

The DPHS aims to develop a range of services to help disabled people obtain housing and/or services more suitable to their needs and thus enabling a greater independence in how they live at home and in their community

Are you confused or unsure about how to find a home that suits your needs and aspirations? The Disabled Persons Housing Service (DPHS) provides a one-stop-shop at which disabled people can find all the answers to the questions they have, as well as help with being able to ask the questions they didn't know they could ask.

Our background
The DPHS became a registered charity in its own right on 20th September 2001 under the guidance of a steering group.  As funding sources increased the service has been able to expand into its current form.
Why we do what we do?
Accessing housing can be complicated at the best of times.  When you require special adaptations this can be even harder.  The DPHS can assist by completing the various forms etc required to access the multiple housing providers in North Ayrshire.  We can also provide advice and assistance for those who wish to stay in their own home, by signposting to services such as Occupational Therapy, to assist in adapting your current home.
